Advanced Firearms 2: Tactical Engagement
Despite the way most shooters train, adversaries do not stand still like paper targets in an open area. Lethal force encounters are high stress, sudden events that can happen in almost any environment. You may be seated in a car or at a restaurant table; you may be injured and unable to use your "shooting" arm; or you may encounter multiple adversaries at different distances. Being ready for these types of real-world situations requires a reflexive mastery of basic shooting and tactical skills.
Advanced Firearms 2, Tactical Engagement, focuses on developing the student's ability to shoot under stress and in real-world applications. This program begins with a brief review of essential skills and progresses into advanced tactics, including:
Drawing and Firing From a Carry Position • Assault Evasion and Close Contact Shooting • Multiple Target Engagement • Use of Cover • Injury Drills • Firing From Ground, Kneeling, and Seated Positions • Mobile Target Engagement • Alternative Weapon Use
Emphasis in this class is placed on first shot accuracy, speed, and weapon control under intense conditions. Graduates of this class can look forward to a substantial increase in their firearms skills and ability to survive armed encounters.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The intense nature of this course requires exceptional care to ensure the safety of students and instructors. Any student that violates the safety rules or demonstrates poor weapon control under stress will be removed from the course.

Urgent message from the S2 Institute: As many of you are aware there is a nationwide shortage of ammunition. The S2 Institute has always prided itself on providing quality affordable training for all our students. In the very near future we will be forced to add a surcharge for ammunition to all our firearms classes. As the cost of ammunition climbs and the availability falls we will be forced to make this adjustment. The amount of the surcharge will depend on the market availability of ammunition. If students wish to provide their own ammunition for re-qualification and qualification we would encourage that. If you provide your own ammunition a cost adjustment will be made to the course cost to compensate for that. In addition we will not be able to accept students at re-qualification who have not pre-registered.
We hope the issues causing this will be resolved in the near future.

Student Comments
“Advanced Firearms 1 is the first part of the two day program offered by the S2 Institute.. For those who sign up for AF-2, you will receive the training for AF-1 on the first day.
The instructor for our class was Tim O'Rourke. Tim is a first-rate instructor with great shooting and teaching skills. He clearly states his objectives and goals. Tim was very clear in his desire to not create "signature" techniques for us to follow, but rather to take advantage of what might already be working for each student and only correct the problems.
Day one consisted of saftey, shooting skills and malfunction drills. This was important foundational work and set the stage for day two. At the end of day one groups were much tighter and everyone had the basics well in hand.
Day two introduced us to tactical shooting: Shooting while moving and supporting defensive actions. The class was well paced and the drills provided a great learning experience. The drills were simple, effective and most of all safe. Tim ran the range with the kind of professional control that keeps things moving yet without danger to the students.
At the end of the class the one thing all students seemed to be disappointed in was the lack of a follow-up class. Tim moved fast and covered an amazing amount of material in just two days. I do hope that he offers a part three to this program.”
