Those who applied for their license prior to this date, and have not yet completed the 16 hours, will still have 6 months to do so. Our website will be updated soon to reflect these changes.

Florida Basic Security Officer Course
Part 2 (16-Hour Continuation Class)

In accordance with Florida State law, every licensed security officer that is issued a Class "D" license based on 24-hours of initial training is required to complete an additional 16-hours of instruction within 6 months from the time that the license was issued.* At the S2 Institute, we provide the required 16-hours of Class "D" continuation training as two, 8-hour days of classroom instruction. This continuation class, Basic Security Officer Part 2, includes all information required by the State of Florida for officer continuation training including the new mandated terrorism awareness training.

Students passing the final exam will be given proof of completion to provide to the State of Florida as required to maintain their Class "D" license.

NOTE: Those with an expired license who completed their initial 24 hour course after October 1994, but never completed the 16-hour course will have to do, as well as reapply to the State. This will require submission of a notarized application, a photograph and fingerprint, all of which can be purchased from S2 for $18

This course is held on-site at the S2 Institute's facilities in Largo, Tampa, and Orlando Florida.
