This course provides retired law enforcement officers desiring to carry a concealed firearm pursuant the Retired Law Enforcement Officer’s Safety Act or 2004 (HR 218) with the necessary instruction, qualification, and documentation.

Instruction focuses on the following statutes and certification standards:

• FS. 790.00 Concealed Weapons and Firearms.
  
• FS. 776.00 Justifiable Use of Force.
  
• HR 218/Retired Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act of 2004
  
• FDLE required 40 round course of fire.
  

A minimum score of 80% (thirty-two rounds) is required on the 40 round course of fire.

Required Equipment

	•	Presentation of valid agency retirement credentials AND a legible photo copy of those credentials.
	•	Student owned firearm and holster. No inside the pants holsters.
	•	50 rounds of appropriate ammunition for each course of fire

Urgent message from the S2 Institute: As many of you are aware there is a nationwide shortage of ammunition. The S2 Institute has always prided itself on providing quality affordable training for all our students. In the very near future we will be forced to add a surcharge for ammunition to all our firearms classes. As the cost of ammunition climbs and the availability falls we will be forced to make this adjustment. The amount of the surcharge will depend on the market availability of ammunition. If students wish to provide their own ammunition for re-qualification and qualification we would encourage that. If you provide your own ammunition a cost adjustment will be made to the course cost to compensate for that. In addition we will not be able to accept students at re-qualification who have not pre-registered.
