Florida Concealed Weapons License Course

In the State of Florida, the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services "shall issue" a license to carry concealed weapons to citizens that meet a number of criteria as defined in Florida Statute 790.006. One of those critera, FL Statute 760.006 (h), requires demonstration of competency with a firearm. For citizens without documentation of previous firearms training, the easiest way to demonstrate this competency is by attending a concealed weapons license course presented in accordance with Florida law.

The S2 Institute Florida Concealed Weapons License Course is designed to provide private citizens with the knowledge necessary for obtaining a concealed weapons license in the State of Florida including essential principles of firearms safety and operation in addition to the legal aspects of concealed carry and use of force. The course consists of a classroom portion, followed by live fire on the range.

All of our instructors are certified Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors, Florida "K" License holders, and members of both the NRA and IALEFI.

What you will receive...

  • Florida’s CCW package and assistance with preparing it for submission.
  • Knowledge about storage, handling and firearms safely.
  • Knowledge about applicable State laws 790.fs and use of force laws 776 fs
  • Advice on concealed carry methods, firearms maintenance and care
  • Fundamentals of shooting and handgun operation
  • Certificate of Completion for submission to the State of Florida.

Enrollment also includes necessary notarization of CCW application paperwork, photograph, ammo, and use of a firearm. Students will receive all that is required to apply for your Florida CCW.

Firearms & Equipment

Students need to bring their own Firearms, 100 rounds of ammunition, appropriate holster, eye & ear protection.

Note: If you do not have your own firearm, one can be provided for a nominal maintenance fee of $20.00.

Urgent message from the S2 Institute: As many of you are aware there is a nationwide shortage of ammunition. The S2 Institute has always prided itself on providing quality affordable training for all our students. In the very near future we will be forced to add a surcharge for ammunition to all our firearms classes. As the cost of ammunition climbs and the availability falls we will be forced to make this adjustment. The amount of the surcharge will depend on the market availability of ammunition. If students wish to provide their own ammunition for re-qualification and qualification we would encourage that. If you provide your own ammunition a cost adjustment will be made to the course cost to compensate for that. In addition we will not be able to accept students at re-qualification who have not pre-registered.

We hope the issues causing this will be resolved in the near future.
