Basic CRIMPT Course
This course centers on the use of the CRMIPT: Close Range Medium ImPact Tool. The basic objective of this course is to make the attendee aware of the possibilities of using impact to defend themselves and the adaptation from empty hand to the impact tool.
The CRMIPT enables the user to disable an opponent by striking and controlling limbs while targeting various less-lethal pressure points on an aggressor's body. The first thing you will notice on the CRMIPT is the distinctive appendage or ‘ramp’. The ramp allows for kinetic opening the blunt edge blade by leveraging it against an object or opponent. In the blade-closed position, the ramp or other parts of the CRMIPT can be applied to various pressure points on an attacker's body for less-lethal control.
All techniques are based on defensive reflexes and gross motor skills. From this point the student will understand techniques for trapping, locking, and takedowns. Open and closed positions of the tool are explained and the use of the kinetic-opening system becomes a major part of the CRMIPT’s usage.
Student Comments About the Instructor
“You and your staff made a huge impact on me and on the rest of my team. Your knowledge of self-defense and patience with our constant shifting schedules helped us in getting a training program that works. A lot of companies and individuals try to sell a product that looks good on TV but is not practical on today’s war on terror. You don’t, your system is by far the best and most practical that I have ever seen. Each individual module is simple and easy to remember and to apply, and the tools, WOW.”

“As usual your training program is right on. It is exactly what we at the ATF need to know to survive with edged weapons or as you say edged tools. All of us who attended at the training programs, the ATF, Secret Service, Coast Guard, NYPD and DEA came away with real useful knowledge. Your Modular training program for use with edged tools and impact tools is the tops. I really like the Abaniko fixed blades but the GUNTING System is the best thing I’ve seen for LE. With all LE and Agents carrying knives, your Gunting-CRIMPT should be the required carry. I agree with the magazines that it might be the best LE tool ever designed.”

“By using pain compliance, holds, joint locks, arm bars, and various biomechanical shut down techniques, we can help to reduce the liability for both the officer and their agency; not to mention the devastation both emotionally and financially of the officer involved in a fatal shooting. Thus with your training we could alleviate the officer and the department from being subjected to brutality charges and wrongful death suits.”

“Learning the Modular Train the Trainer Program and using the Gunting have increased my self-confidence in knowing that as a woman, with very little martial arts background, I am mentally and physically capable of defending myself at anytime without having to use lethal force.”

“The Gunting and CRMIT tools and the innovative training system that you have built around them brings new validity to pain compliance techniques and opens up a new dimension in defensive tactics for police and security professionals. I am highly impressed with the versatility and immediate effectiveness of the Gunting tool. My Gunting has taken a place on my duty belt and has become and indispensable multi-purpose tool and force multiplier.”
