Tim O'Rourke, CPS
Executive Director

Tim O’Rourke is the Executive Director of S2 and the primary instructor for the Institute’s executive/VIP protection and defensive tactics programs. Mr. O’Rourke assumed leadership of the Institute with over 20 years experience in executive and dignitary protection. During his career, he has provided personal security for individuals and organizations at-risk in varied environments throughout the world. Today he continues to oversee the protective, intelligence and logistical requirements for a diverse range of clientele to include corporate executives, political figures, television, film, news, and sports talent.

Mr. O’Rourke has presented hundreds of briefings and seminars on the protection of corporations and people at risk. He continues to serve as a principal consultant on security related projects and operations for several multi-national corporations and government agencies. Mr. O'Rourke frequently provides expert commentary for news media and trade organizations on matters involving acts of violence, terrorism, and protective training.

As a defensive tactics instructor, Mr. O’Rourke was an early practitioner of merging modern combative systems with the understanding of physiology and psychology, or what he refers to as “the mechanics of violence.” In 2004 the World Head Family of Sokeship Council (a traditional martial arts organization) inducted Mr. O’Rourke into the Hall of Fame as one of the first modern combative instructors recognized by this institution.
