Mr. Hornberger is an S2 adjunct instructor for Terrorism Intelligence, HUMINT Operations, HUMINT Targeting and Leadership for HUMINT Supervisors.   Mr. Hornberger joins S2 as a recently retired senior executive CIA Operations Officer with 20 years of experience conducting HUMINT operations in the Middle East and South Asia. Mr. Hornberger has significant experience commanding counterterrorism operations, both abroad and domestically, including leading the successful dismantling of Al-Qa'ida's leadership and operational capability in a key South Asian nation.

As a COS, DCOS and Chief of Base, Mr. Hornberger was recognized for the effectiveness of his HUMINT operations, particularly those aimed at hard targets. Mr. Hornberger also served as a senior instructor at the CIA's field operations training facility. Separately, Mr. Hornberger was occasionally called upon to conduct leadership training seminars for CIA operational supervisors.
