Robert Edwards Jr., CFO, CHS-IV, MIFirE has 30-years plus experience in emergency services. Chief Edwards had retired after 34 years of employment for Johnson & Johnson where amongst communications and information technology duties, he was responsible for the implementation and management of an industrial Emergency Response Team. As a member of the volunteer fire service he had served 17 years as a chief officer of the Bloomsbury (NJ) Fire Department. Having been active in Emergency Management developing Emergency Operating Plans he became the Director, Emergency Services for Lehigh County (PA) and had responsibility for Emergency Management, Local Emergency Planning Council, 9-1-1 Communications Center, and the Special Operations (Hazardous Materials, Technical Rescue) areas.
He has held certifications as a Fire Service Instructor Level II, Incident Management Level II, and Fire Official/Inspector. As a DHS instructor, Chief Edwards presents emergency management classes nationwide for fire departments and municipal emergency management agencies.
In 2001, he received the Center for Public Safety Excellence Chief Fire Officer designation. He has since been recognized as a Member, Institution of Fire Engineers and has achieved advanced certification from the American Board for Certification in Homeland Security.
