Tim Cash
Staff Instructor
Mr. Cash most recently served as the Senior Detail Leader on the Department of State, Diplomatic Security Service High Threat Protection Mission to Iraq at the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad. He served as the Tactical Commander for the Protective Services Detail assigned to former Ambassador to Iraq, John Negroponte. John Dimitri Negroponte was appointed in 2005 by President George W. Bush to be America's first National Intelligence Director.
Prior to serving in Iraq, Tim owned and operated Cash & Associates Executive Services, Inc., and Source Investigations Group, Inc., both private investigation agencies specializing in executive protection.
He has addressed the Florida Association of Licensed Investigators on the topics of executive protection and threat assessment, and consulted with several Orlando-area hotels on a broad range of security issues. During his tenure, Tim was also contracted to the Transportation Security Administration as a Master Instructor on the Baggage Screener Training Program. He was a key leader in providing on-the-job training to more than 29,000 Transportation Security Specialists on Explosive Detection Systems and Explosive Trace Detection instruments nationwide.
Tim joined the United States Marine Corps in 1991. Upon leaving the service he joined the Charlotte County FL Sheriff’s Office where he was trained as a member of the S.W.A.T. team and cross-trained with the K-9 Unit. Tim later joined the Orange County FL Sheriff’s Office where he received advanced training in S.W.A.T. operations, waterborne operations, explosive countermeasures, responses to chemical & biological terrorism, and executive protection.
Tim is a member of the Florida Association of Licensed Investigators, the American Society of Industrial Security International, the National Rifle Association, the International Association of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors, the American Society of Law Enforcement Trainers, and the Florida SWAT Association. He is also a certified Firearms Instructor for handgun, shotgun, tactical pistol, and patrol rifle.
